Step 1: Apply to be a contributor

First thing's first, let's get to know you a little better so we can add you to The Ascent as a contributing writer. All you need to do is fill out a simple survey:

Step 2: Submit your content for review

Once you've been added (you should get an email from Medium confirming that we did; please check your publication email settings), it's time to send us your work!

The next time you finish a draft, just do the following to submit your story to us:

1. Click the "…" button (top of page)
2. Select "Add to publication"
3. Choose "The Ascent" from the list
4. Click "Select and continue" to submit

And that's it! We'll do our best to review and/or publish your story submission within 24 to 48 hours, because we know you appreciate speed (it's what we're best known for).

If you have the "Updates from publications" setting turned on in your Medium settings (which we recommend), you should receive an email from us whenever a piece is accepted or rejected.
